The Owensboro Oilers defeated the Marion Bobcats, 14-2
(From Marion) Marion's pitching staff got shelled again Thursday night, giving up 14 runs on 14 hits, 10 bases on balls and three errors. The Bobcats (2-8) dropped their fourth straight in the 2-14 loss to Owensboro (5-4).
On the mound for the Bobcats, Tyler Simmons gave up seven earned runs in only three innings for the loss. In relief, Aaron King gave up another seven runs--only four earned, however--in 1.2 innings of work. Blake Thomas finished the final 4.1 innings of the game, holding the Oilers scoreless.
At the plate, Marion managed only four hits. Joe Tourville had one of those and tallied the sole RBI for the Bobcats.
