The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Madisonville Pirates, 4-2
(From Fulton) The Railroaders (8-10) picked up a third straight win after beating the Pirates ((10-8) on Sunday, and knocks Madisonville down to third in the standings.
The Pirates scored one in the first inning with a lead off double by Dathan Prewett who reached third on a passed ball then scored from a Garrett Emling single. The Railroaders tied the game in the second with a 2 out RBI single by Cody Burton. Fulton took a 2-1 lead in the third with a solo home run by Michael Sillyman, his second in only 3 games with the Railroaders. Bottom of the fourth; Taylor Douglas hit a 2 run shot over the wall to extend Fulton's lead by three runs. The Pirates added their final score in the fifth, scoring off one of two Railroader errors on the evening.
A solid pitching performance by Fulton's starter Garrett Ring (2-1) going a full 8 innings allowing only 3 hits, tagged for 2 unearned runs, walking 4 and striking out 12 batters. Caleb Shelley picked up his second save on the season finishing off the ninth. Taking the loss for Tradewater; Josh Drake threw for 5 innings giving up 9 hits, 4 earned runs, one walk with no strikeouts.
Both teams take Monday off and meet again on Tuesday in Madisonville.
