The Dubois County Bombers defeated the Marion Bobcats, 10-6
In 7 innings. (From Marion) Marion split a double header at Guess Field Friday against the Dubois County Bombers. By winning the nightcap 4-3, the Bobcats ended an eight-game skid and picked up a half-game on first place Hopkinsville, who lost 15-4 to a Fulton squad on a seven game winning streak.
In Game 1, Dubois County bested Marion 10-6 on eight earned runs, six of which were attributed to starter David Herrera who took the loss in 2 2/3 innings pitched. At the plate for the Bobcats, Clint Ambrosch went 3-for-3 with a run scored and two batted in. Brandon Lawing knocked in two runs on two hits in three at-bats. He also scored a run. Brooks Balisterri was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Wes Evers, who also pitched an inning, was 1-for-2 with a run scored.
It was a wild game off the hill for both teams. Combined, eight batters were hit and four wild pitches were thrown and a passed ball and a balk were recorded.
