The Dubois County Bombers defeated the Madisonville Pirates, 4-2
(From Madisonville) Tonight the Dubois County Bombers downed the Madisonville Pirates, 4-2, at Riverside Park in Dawson Springs, Kentucky.
The Bombers drew first blood with a run in the top of the 3rd on an RBI single by Bo Ausmus, driving in Casey Ryan. Madisonville answered in the bottom half of the inning, drawing even on when Alfredo Bohorquez grounded out and drove in Joe Tipton. The score stayed knotted at 1-1 until the sixth inning, when the Bombers scored three runs on three errors, a passed ball, and an RBI single by Shain Showers. Madisonville picked up one run in the bottom of the ninth when Garrett Emling drove in Joe Tipton with a bases-loaded walk, but the rally sputtered out when Matt Sheneman grounded out to end the game.
On the night, Bombers starter Beau Bowen and relievers Michael Paisley, Jackson White, and Jonathon Williams combined to hold the Pirates to two runs on only three hits. Bowen went four complete innings, allowing two hits, one run (earned), and four walks. Bowen also struck out two Pirates. Michael Paisley followed and pitched four innings of no-hit baseball to get the Win, walking four and striking out two. Jackson White came on to start the ninth, walking two straight batters after getting the first out on a ground out. White then gave way to Williams, who closed the door on the Pirates for the Save.
Mason Roof took the loss for the Pirates, pitching six complete innings and giving up six hits, four runs (two earned), three walks, and collecting three strikeouts. CJ Schildt II pitched no-hit and scoreless three innings in relief to give the Pirates a chance. Schildt walked one and struck out three.
