The Hoptown Hoppers defeated the Madisonville Pirates, 10-0

(From Hopkinsville)  The Hoptown Hoppers got the best of the Madisonville Tradewater Pirates Tuesday night, shutting them out 10-0 with the help of starting pitcher Riley Sanderson.

     The Hoppers scored in the bottom of the first after Matt McGowan stole home off a wild pitch by Madisonville's starter Samuel Gilbert, and never looked back. 

     In the bottom of the second, the Hoppers scored again off a line drive double by Trevor Lowe. The next inning Hoptown racked up six more runs off doubles by Henry Rowland, Brandon Boggetto, and Matt McGowan. 

     The Pirates had their only hit in the fourth, when Matt Sheneman singled to lead off the inning.

The Hoppers scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth off a double by Brandon Powell and a single from Derek Ferch.

     Riley Sanderson grabbed the win for the Hoppers with five strike-outs and four walks. Samuel Gilbert suffered the loss for the Pirates.
