The Hoptown Hoppers defeated the Dubois County Bombers, 9-3

(From Dubois County)  Bombers drop tonight's contest, 9-3 to the visiting Hoptown Hoppers. The loss snaps a Dubois County win streak that was at three games coming into the game.

     Hoptown lit up the scoreboard very early, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding another run in the 2nd inning. The Bombers came back in the bottom of the 1st scoring on Bo Ausmus' RBI single but Hoptown limited them to only one run in the inning. Then in the 7th the visitors added two more runs to extend the lead to five runs and scored a solo run in the 9th to finish off the Bombers, 9-3. The Hoppers out hit the Bombers fifteen to seven and the Bombers also stranded nine runners for the game.

     Jake Bell earned the win for the Hoppers, throwing the first six innings, limiting the Bombers to an unearned run off four hits and five strike outs against three walks. It was AJ Vasquez taking the loss for the Bombers, throwing four innings and striking out four. Bell was relieved by Geordie Carlson's three innings of work, which turned into a three inning save for Carlson who struck out four and gave up only one earned run. Jonathan Williams and Cody Morris finished the game for the Bombers, both pitchers struck out two batters for the game.
