The Madisonville Pirates defeated the Fulton Railroaders, 5-1

In 10 innings. (From Fulton)  The Pirates came out on top to win over the Railroaders in extra innings. Third place Madisonville gained one game on second place Fulton, now only 1 /12 games behind.

     Both teams remained scoreless through five innings of play.  The Pirates score first in the 5th inning using one of three hits and a costly error for a one unearned run lead.  The Railroaders answered in the bottom of the 6th inning to tie the game with one unearned run of their own. 

     Scoring was held in check through the 9th inning.  Top of the 10th with two outs, the Pirates got a man aboard on another Railroader error with the runner finally scoring off the game winning RBI single by Joe Tipton. Two more hits produced three additional runs to give Tradewater a 5-1 lead and the final score.

     The Railroaders stranded 13 runners on base and produced 7 hits, the Pirates left 8 men on base and had 9 total hits.  Both teams committed 2 errors each.

     Tradewater starter Tyler Thomas threw for 6 innings allowing 7 hits, one unearned run, 3 walks, and had 3 strikeouts.  Taylor Burr pitched one inning in relief and Samuel Gilbert completed the final 3 innings and takes the win for Madisonville.

     Fulton's starter Garrett Ring pitched a strong game for 8 full innings giving up 5 hits, one unearned run, 2 walks, and struck out 13 batters.  Ring left the game tied and Ryan Skoubo pitched for 1 2/3 innings and pinned for 4 runs (3 earned) with 3 hits, one walk and 2 strikeouts, and was tagged for the loss.  Sean Cunningham closed out the game with the final out.

     The two teams battle again on Thursday in Madisonville.
