The Dubois County Bombers defeated the Owensboro Oilers, 10-3
(From Owensboro) The Owensboro Oilers lost their Thursday evening home game witth the visiting Dubois County Bombers by the final score of 10 to 3.
The Bombers scored one run in top part of each of the 1st through 5th innings. Even with that, and a delay for lightning, the Oilers kept it close to that point with two runs in the bottom of the 4th inning and one run in the bottom of the 5th inning. The game was as close as 5 to 3 through five complete innings. DC added two more runs to its lead in the top of the 7th inning and three runs in the top of the 8th inning to pull away the winning margin.
Scoring for the Bombers were: Casey Ryan (3), Dane Giesler (2), Chris Tavares (2), Jarrett Young, Hunter Serrato, and Jacob Armstrong. DC RBIs went to: Ryan (3), Eric McKibban, Andre Davis (2), Young, Serrato, Armstrong, and Shain Showers.
Scoring for the Oilers were: Tyler Tichenor, Cameron Wallace, and Hunter Newman. Newman collected the only Owensboro RBI.
The Bombers started pitcher Nolan Schaeffer, who worked five innings for the win. DC reliever Jonathan Williams worked four innings for a save. Owensboro starter Shawn Kahre took the home loss.
