The Dubois County Bombers defeated the Hoptown Hoppers, 5-4
(From Dubois County) Bombers take down the first place Hoptown Hoppers, 5-4 tonight. The win snapped a ten game winning streak for the Hoppers and the Bombers (21-22) have now won two straight games.
Hoptown scored the game's first run in the 1st but Dubois County came back in the 3rd to score two runs. Dubois County added two more runs in the 5th ,while Hoptown scored a pair of runs in the 6th and tied the game in the 7th. Dubois County didn't waste any time regaining lead as they took the lead in the bottom of the 7th and held on for the, 5-4 win.
Jacob Armstrong, Rick Linton, and Shain Showers each finshed with multi-hit games. Armstrong and Showers drove triples to the right side of the field and Armstrong also added a double in the game. Three other Bombers finished the game with a hit, Eric McKibban, Jarret Young, and Chris Tavares each singled.
Cody Morris relieved starter, Michael Paisley who left in the middle of the 6th with a runner on second base. The runner on second came around to score giving Paisley the the no decision. Paisley struck out three, walked two and gave up two earned and unearned runs. Morris earned the win in relief, pitching an inning and striking out a batter. Jonathan Williams worked the final two innings to pick up the save.
