The Madisonville Pirates defeated the Marion Bobcats, 10-1
(From Marion) Marion generated only two hits and committed three errors in a 1-10 loss Monday to Madisonville at Guess Field. The Pirates, meantime, put together 15 hits, including two doubles, two triples and a home run.
The loss was the fifth in a row for the last-place Bobcats (6-23), dropping them 14 games behind first-place Hoptown and 7.5 games behind fifth-place Dubois County. Marion has only 14 scheduled regular season games remaining in the 2013 season.
At the plate Monday, Paul Angel and Jarrett Rice were the only two Bobcats to touch Madisonville pitching for a hit. Rice scored the lone run of the game for Marion.
