The Hoptown Hoppers defeated the Madisonville Miners, 1-0
Game called for weather and complete after 5 2/3 innings.
(From Hopkinsville) The host Hoptown Hoppers were able to score a run in the bottom of the fifth inning, just ahead of the game being called due to inclement weather. According to rule 5-8-b-(3), it is a regulation game, but it is up to the Ohio Valley League office to determine if the game will be called complete or if it will be a suspended game to be completed on June 14.
Battling in a scoreless tie in the bottom of the fifth, the Hoppers centerfielder Parker Cash led off with a single and went to second on an errant throw. He then stole third and scored on a one-out single by Meade Kendrick, who went to second on a passed ball and took third on a groundout. The umpires called for a lightning delay during the next batter's at-bat, then eventually called the game about 45 minutes later.
Severe thunderstorms were predicted for Hopkinsville, which was under a tornado warning when the game was called.
