The Hoptown Hoppers defeated the Madisonville Miners, 5-4

In 12 innings at Madisonville.  The home team Miners struggle for their first win continued on Monday as they fell to the Hoppers by one run in extra innings.  The Hoppers lead 3-0 after three innings before the Miners finally got on the board with a single run in the 4th and 6th innings to close the score 3-2.  Hoptown added a fourth run in the 6th inning before the Madisonville came back again in the 8th to score 2 runs and tie the game at 4-4.  An RBI single by Sean Brophy in the top of the 12th gave the Hoppers another one run lead.  The Miners got the tying run aboard in the bottom half of the 12th with one out only to have their hopes dashed with a double play to end the game.

     The Hoppers had 10 hits with 3 errors and left 6 men on base, and the Miners got 9 hits with one error but stranded 13 runners.  Trevor Blocker got the win on the mound in relief for 3 2/3 innings of work, Josh Drake picked up a save in finishing the final inning.  Austin Bickerton was tagged for the loss pitching 4 1/3 innings.  The Hoppers remain undefeated at 9-0 and the Miners still seeking their first victory at 0-8.
