The Hoptown Hoppers defeated the Owensboro Oilers, 11-1

 (From Owensboro) The Owensboro Oilers lost the last game of their promising long June homestand Tuesday night to the visiting Hopkinsville Hoppers. The final score was 11 to 1 favoring the road team.
     The Hoppers amassed their total of runs by scoring three runs in three separate innings and two runs in another. Scoring in the top of the 3rd inning were: Sean Brophy (singled, scored on an error), Mathew Alford (singled, scored on the same error) and Bubba Olivera (reached base on an error, batted in by Michael Haun). Scoring in the top of the 4th inning were Ben Fisher (single, batted in by Ben Rodriguez), Rodriguez (doubled, batted in by Alford) and Brophy (singled, also batted in by Alford). Scoring in the top of the 8th inning were: Chris Brown (pinch running for Taylor Ellis [walked], batted in by Fisher), Fisher (singled, scored on an error), and Rodriguez (walked, batted in by Alford). Finally, scoring in the top of the 9th inning were: Parker Cash (singled, batted in by Fisher) and Mitchell Gallagher (batted in by Rodriguez).
     The lone Owensboro run came in the bottom of the 4th inning. Alfredo Bohorques led off with a single and Jake Krupar singled right behind him to set up runners at first base and third base. Bohorques scored on a RBI sacrifice fly by Tyler Rachel. That was all from the hometown offense for the game.
     Hopkinsville reliever Geordie Carlson picked up the win in immediate relief of the Hopper starter Dylan Stewart, who left the game at 4.67 innings pitched. Oilers starter Tanner Edge took the loss.
