The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Owensboro Oilers, 3-2

(From Fulton)  The Railroaders broke a tied game in the bottom of 9th to take the victory over the visiting Oilers in Fulton.  

     Owensboro jumped to a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning.  Braxton Brinkley singled and.Alferdo reached on an error.  Both runners moved forward a base when Christian McHatton walked to load the bases with no outs.  The next batter Harold Diaz then grounded out driving in the first run.  The following batter Jake Krupar hit a RBI single for the second run while McHatton was thrown out trying to score from second on the hit.  A strikeout ended the inning.

     The Railroaders tied the game in the 2nd inning with a RBI single by Zach Bailey who drove in Riley Benner who had single and advanced to second on a wild pitch.  Bailey then reached third on an error and then score off a Dayton Rausch single.  The inning ended with a double play and so did the scoring for both teams through the next 7 1/2 innings of play.

     In the bottom of the 9th with two outs and tied at 2-2, Railroader Dylan Rajkovich hit a solid single which he stretched into a double rounding first for second and beating a high throw-in from right field. Dayton Rausch then hit a hard line drive into right field just over the fielder's outstretched glove for a game winning RBI driving Rajkovich across home plate.

     The Railroaders totaled 8 hits on the evening with one error and they left 8 runners on base.  The Oilers were only able to muster 3 hits, committed 3 errors and had only 2 runners stranded.

     Fernando Gonzalez earned the win for a strong pitching performance and complete 9 innings on the mound.  After giving up 2 hits and a walk in the 1st inning, Gonzalez allowed only one other batter to reach base (a double) through the last 8 innings of the game.  He struck out 8 and had 2 unearned runs against him. 

     Owensboro's starter Cable Wright pitched 6 innings leaving the game tied giving up 5 hits, 2 runs (one earned), one walk and no strikeouts.  Morgan Grisham pitched 2 innings followed by Kevin Meyer and Trent Benningfield who pitched to only one batter each for 2 outs in the 9th inning.  Next, Cameron Wallace came in with the 2 outs and gave up the final two Railroaders hits and score to take the loss.
