The Dubois County Bombers defeated the Fulton Railroaders, 7-2
(From Fulton) The Bombers took advantage of two Railroaders errors and used 5 unearned runs to beat Fulton at home 7-2.
The Railroaders scored first with a run in the 1st inning, and the Bombers answered in the top of the 2nd with a run to tie the game. The Bombers broke out with four more runs in the 4th inning using 3 hits and the two Fulton errors. The Railroaders got their final run across in the 6th inning from a solo homerun by Greg Fettes. The Bombers tacked on two more runs in the 6th for the final 7-2 score.
For the Bombers; RBI's by Ty Broady, Joe Redburn and Mitch Doucette contributed to the win. For the Railroaders; Fettes was the star at the plate, 3 for 4 and knocked in both runs for Fulton.
Both teams left 9 runners each on base. Bombers had 8 hits with no errors in the field and Railroaders got 10 hits with 2 errors.
Dubois County starter Lucas Barnett gets the win for 5 innings of work, giving up 8 hits, 2 earned runs, 2 walks and one strikeout. Fulton starter CJ Lee takes for loss on the mound for 3 2/3 innings with 5 hits allowed, 5 runs (2 earned), 6 walks and 3 strikeouts.
The Bombers improve to 8-12 and gain a game on Hopkinsville who lost to the Miners on the evening. The Railroaders remain 5 1/5 games back with the Hoppers loss.
