Ohio Valley League announces 2014 Season Players' Awards
With the final games of the 2014 regular season completed, the OVL recognizes the top players in ten areas of performance. For 2014, the OVL has decided to select only one player in each area therefore eliminating ties as in years past. Based upon a 40 game schedule the players had to quality with a minimum of playing time in order to quality for a title. Batters must have had 112+ plate appearances (PA) and pitcher a minimum for 32 innings pitched (IP). Stolen Bases and Saves are exempt from these qualifying factors. Where two or more qualified players tied in a specific category, OVL officials have chosen one player over the others based upon comparing all individual performance stats for each player. Trophies will be awarded to the players selected for a title. Competition was tough this year as several players set high standards of performance. Congratulations to those players chosen and all who were the best in 2014. Every player and team helped bring another great season of baseball.
