The Owensboro Oilers defeated the Dubois County Bombers, 6-1

(From Owensboro) The Owensboro Oilers won their opening game of the 2015 season Friday night over the visiting DuBois County Bombers. The final score was 6 to 1 for the home team. 
     The Oilers scored first with two runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. Ben Rhodes led off with a walk. A two-out walk to Conner McHugh advanced Rhodes to second base. Rhodes stole third base. Austin Bartle reached on an errant throw that allowed both Rhodes and McHugh to cross home plate. Owensboro pushed the lead to 5-0 with three runs in the 7th inning. With one out, Aaron King singled, and both Mchugh and Bartle walked to load the bases. Tyler Tichenor drove in all three runners ahead of him with a 3-RBI triple. 
     The Bombers scored their one run in the top of the 8th inning. Nick Barrientos hit a one-out triple and scored when pinch-hitter Alex Ralph followed by reaching on an error.
     The Oilers reclaimed the five run advantage with one run in the bottom of the 8th inning. Rhodes hit a one-out single, then moved to third base as Riley Benner reached on a two-base error. A walk to Aaron King loaded the bases. McHugh reached safely on a RBI fielder's choice that plated Rhodes. Dubois County loaded the bases in the top of the 9th before Oilers reliever Damon Davis induced a two-out pop out to end the game at 6 to 1 for the Owensboro.
     Ryan Flores middle reliever gets the win for Owensboro in relief of starter Bryce Wilz, Chase Randolph and Davis contribute on the mound as well. DuBois County starter. Zachary Aring takes the loss.
