The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Owensboro Oilers, 10-9
(From Fulton) After giving up a 7-3 lead in the top of the ninth allowing the Oilers to score 6 runs, the Railroaders redeemed themselves scoring 3 runs in the final bottom half to win in Fulton.
The Railroaders and Oilers both shelled out 12 hits each on the evenings. The Railroaders plagued with 7 errors allowed 6 unearned runs to score. The Oilers had only 2 errors and gave up 5 unearned runs. Fulton left 13 runners on board base and Owensboro stranded 9 men.
Fulton took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, scoring off 2 hits, a passed ball and a ground out RBI.
Owensboro tied the game in the third with 2 scores using only one hit and 3 Railroader errors. The Oilers took a 3-2 lead in the top of the fourth inning on a RBI single scoring a runner who had reached base hit by a pitch.
The Railroaders answered in the bottom half of the fourth with one run to tie the game once more. Bottom the fifth Fulton put up 3 more runs from 3 hits and one Oiler error. The Railroaders added another run in the sixth to extend their lead 7-3.
Both teams stalled until the top of the ninth when the Oilers mounded a comeback scoring 6 runs on 5 hits and 2 more Railroaders errors.
Trailing 9-7 the Railroaders lead off the bottom of the ninth with a solo home run from Drew Greenwood (2-for-4). Following the homer; a walk, an error and an intentional walk loaded the bases for Fulton with no outs. The Oilers then turned a double play to second and first base but allow another run to score and tie the game 9-9. With a runner on third, Kyle Uhrich (3-for-6) hit his only RBI single into right field to get the win for Fulton.
Additional scoring hits for Fulton came from Kipp Moore with 2 RBI, and one RBI each by Brad Baldwin and Jacob Elliott.
Owensboro got single RBI from Alferdo Bohorques, Riley Benner, Aaron King, Braxton Morris, Jacke Wilson, and Josh Wetzel for 6 total.
A total sum of 9 pitchers threw from the mound, Railroaders 3 and the Oilers used 6. Trey Tigart who finished the top of the ninth in relief gets the win for Fulton as the pitcher of record when the Railroaders retook the lead to win in the bottom half of the inning. Austin Bartle responsible for the 3 runners who scored to win takes the loss for Owensboro.
