The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Owensboro Oilers, 11-5

(From Fulton) The Railroaders used seven unearned runs to overtake and beat the Oilers 11-5 in Fulton. Owensboro was best with 12 hits to Fulton's 7 total, but four Oiler errors along with wild pitches and passed balls worked in favor for the Railroaders.
     The Railroaders scored 2 unearned runs in the first inning and added another unearned in the third to take a 3-0 lead on the Oilers. 
     The Oilers got their scoring started in the fourth inning with 3 runs using 4 hits and one Railroader error to tie the game. Owensboro put up 2 runs more in the fifth from 3 hits and took a 5-3 lead.
     With only 2 game hits total going into the bottom of the sixth, the Railroaders exploded with 5 hits and used 2 errors to score 8 runs to reach the final 11-5 winning tally.
     Kyle Uhrich lead Fulton at the plate going 2-for-5 with a double, 4 RBI and one score. Griffen Neuer was next with a 2 RBI double and one score going 1-for-4 on the night. Brad Balwin added a double going 1-for-2 and scored twice.
     Mark VanDenlangenberg had a 2 RBI 1-for-4 single for Owensboro, and Conner McHugh was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI.
     Kyle Estand takes the win for Fulton as the pitcher of record when the Railroaders retook lead. Estand pitched only 2/3 innings in relief of starter Lee Haeberle who went for 5 1/3 innings giving up 10 hits, 5 runs (3 earned), no walks and had 6 strikeouts. Eddie Mathis earned the first season save for Fulton pitching the final 3 innings allowing 2 hits, no runs, one walk and dished out 5 strikeouts.
     The loss goes to John Hakemoller, the second of seven pitchers Owensboro sent to the mound. Hakemoller's 2 1/3 innings ended with only 2 hits, one walk allowed, but he had 5 runs (2 earned) scored against him. Starter Jake Wilson went for 3 innings giving up 2 hits, tagged for 3 unearned runs, 2 walks, and have 2 strikeouts.
     The win moves Fulton back into second in the standings ahead of the Miners who loss to the first place Bombers. On Sunday the Railroaders travel to Madisonville to take on the Miners, while the Oilers go to Dubois for a game with the Bombers.
