The Madisonville Miners defeated the Owensboro Oilers, 4-3
(From Madisonville) The Miner won the nightcap 4-3 over the Oilers, with Cameron Smith picking up the win on the mound and Wesley Birchmeier collecting a save for pitching a perfect seventh inning to nail down the sweep.
After three scoreless innings, Madisonville scored twice in the bottom of the 4th to take a 2-0 lead. The Oilers answered with two of their own to tie the game heading into the bottom of the 5th, where Madisonville retook the lead 3-2. Both teams scored one run a piece in the 6th inning, with Madisonville taking a 4-3 lead into the final frame.
Shane Connahan provided the big blast for Madisonville in Game Two, belting a line drive home run into the gap in right-center field. Connahan finished the game 3-for-3 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI. Connor Moss picked up where he left off in Game One, batting 2-for-3 with two RBI in the second session.
Tyler Tichenor (1-4), Ben Rhodes (1-4), and Jake Wilson (1-3) each had an RBI for the Oilers in Game Two.
