The Hoptown Hoppers defeated the Madisonville Miners, 19-5

(From Hopkinsville) In front of an attendance of 275, the Hopkinsville Hoppers defeated the Madisonville Miners by a score of 19 to 5 on Thursday evening in Hopkinsville. The 19 runs scored by the Hoppers were the most scored in franchise history since it joined the OVL.
     Hopkinsville had 19 runs on 15 hits and had one error. Madisonville had 5 runs with 11 hits and had 7 errors.
     Hopkinsville scored 10 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, 9 of which were unearned, due to 4 Madisonville errors. Cody Duncan of the Hoppers capped off the inning by hitting a grand slam. Matt Cogen added a homer for the Hoppers, Ernie De la Trindad had single, double, and a grand slam for a total of 5 RBIs, and Will Olsen had 3 doubles in pacing the Hopper attack. Brady Walsh picked up the victory for the Hoppers, pitching 7 innings of 2 run baseball.
