The Dubois County Bombers defeated the Hoptown Hoppers, 7-2

The Bombers overpowered the Hoppers with 14 hits through nine innings in Hopkinsville to win and take a 1-0 game lead in the post season semifinals.

     The Bombers scored 4 runs in the fourth and added single runs in the fifth, eighth and ninth innings to achieve their 7 total score. The Hoppers finally showed life in the bottom of the ninth inning scoring 2 runs off of 3 of their game total 4 hits, but too little too late.

     Dubois County was led at the plate by Drake McNamara who was 4-for-4 with a double, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. For Hoptown Kyle Hubbuch went 1-for-4 with a double for his team's 2 RBI.

     Bombers starter Ryan Dills earned the win for 8 innings work giving up only one hit, 2 walks and had 11 strikeouts. Hunter Spencer completed the final inning giving up 3 hits, 2 earned runs, no walk and one strikeout.

     Taking the loss for the Hoppers was Bryan Cruse for 6 innings allowing 8 hits, 5 runs (3 earned), one walk and struck out 8 batters. 

     The Bombers host the Hoppers in Dubois County on Saturday for the second game of the semifinals.
