The Dubois County Bombers defeat the Fulton Railroaders, 7-5

(From Dubois County) The Dubois County Bombers returned to their winning ways last night with an exhilarating 7-5 come-from-behind victory over the Fulton Railroaders.

Fulton rode the strong left arm of Seth Hougeson while building a 5-0 lead through the first six innings. Third inning singles by Kyle Beach, Cameron Curry, and Chase Sloan highlighted a three-run rally. Fulton added unearned runs in the fourth and sixth innings to mount the five-run cushion.

Hougeson pitched six strong innings, limiting Dubois County to two hits. However, he had to escape bases-loaded jams in the second and sixth innings. Both were fueled by defensive miscues and walks.

But on a night when unearned runs were the currency in play, Dubois County made the most of an errant throwing arm from the Railroaders third baseman while tallying seven unearned runs in the seventh inning.

Buddy Johnson had two hits for Dubois County, including the two-RBI single that plated the deciding runs. Zach Gray and Trey Fulton each doubled for the only extra-base hits of the game.

Fulton's offense was paced by Kyle Beach with three hits. Cameron Curry and Chase Sloan each added a pair of singles.

Fulton out hit Dubois County 7-5, but committed six errors to the Bombers two.

The Bombers relief corps pitched 5 1/3 innings, holding Fulton to one unearned run. Derek Flaugher earned the win, his first decision of the season. Kevin Forde collects his first save of the summer.

Outfielder Kyle Beach relieved Hougeson in the seventh. His effort was vicitimized by three throwing errors that contributed to the Bomber rally. Beach takes the loss. His record now stands at 0-2.

The Bombers record improves to 6-2. They remain in sole possession of second place in the Ohio Valley League. They return to action on Money at League Stadium against the Muhlenberg County Stallions. First pitch is at 7 PM.
