The Madisonville Miners defeat the Fulton Railroaders, 12-4

(From Madisonville) The Miners (6-5) defeated the Railroaders (4-8) 12-4 on Thursday night in Madisonville. The Miners scored five runs in the bottom of the second and never looked back.

Tom Prospero (2 RBI), Joe McGuinness (2 RBI), and Brandt Nowaskie (5 RBI) each picked up four hits in five at-bats to pace the Miners offensively. On the mound, starter Brandon Dusenberry pitched six innings to collect the win, with Casey Elbin and Dylan Ladd wrapping up the ballgame on the mound for Madisonville.

For the Railroaders, Cameron Curry and Andrew Swanson each belted solo home runs for the two Fulton runs batted in. Alex Phillips chipped in with two hits as well. Railroader starter Teagan Lind took the loss, with Konnor Aherin, Paris Creek, and Cameron Curry each also seeing time on the mound.

The win keeps the Miners in fourth place, 4.5 games behind league-leading Hopkinsville. Fulton drops to seven games away from the Hoppers with the loss.

Madisonville travels to Dubois County on Friday night, while Fulton hosts the Muhlenberg County Stallions at "The Yard."
