The Dubois County Bombers defeat the Hoptown Hoppers, 8-0

(From Hopkinsville) The Hoptown Hoppers (22-5) lost just their fifth game of the season 8-0 to the visiting Dubois County Bombers (15-11). This was their first shut out of the season. Renton Poole (3-1) pitched seven scoreless innings only giving up two hits and earned the win for the Bombers. Chance Carner (2-1) started for the Hoppers and only gave up two runs, but got the loss for the Hoppers.

The Bombers struck early scoring one run in the top of the second inning after a lead off double by Buddy Johnson resulted in a run when Austin Saikal batted him in with a single. Dubois County scored another run in the top of the fifth inning that started with a two out double by Connor Moroder who would score on a wild pitch after advancing to third on a Hoptown error.

Dubois County then opened it up with two more runs in the top of the sixth and four more runs in the top of the eighth. Highlights include a two run RBI double by Buddy Johnson and RBI's by Zack Gray and Connor Moroder.

The Hoppers tried to start a rally in the bottom of the ninth, but were unable to score any runs.

The Hoppers travel to Owensboro on Wednesday and Dubois County travels to Fulton to face the Railroaders.
