The Fulton Railroaders defeat the Owensboro Oilers, 12-11

In 7 innings. (From Fulton) Game 2 became a slug feast with both teams totaling 22 hits (Fulton 12, Owensboro 10), and included four homeruns and five doubles. The teams exchange the lead 4 times and were tied twice during the game. A final inning rally by the Oilers was cut short when, with 2 outs, the tying run aboard base was tagged out while caught in a rundown between first and second.

 

Andrew Swanson led Fulton at the plate going 3-for-4 with 6 RBI, a homerun and scored twice. Mason Elliott followed and was 3-for-3, a homerun, 2 RBI and 2 scores. 

 

Owensboro's leader at the plate was Sam Medina who was 4-for-5 with 4 RBI, a homerun, 2 doubles and 2 runs scores. Nick Lugo was 3-for-4 and added a solo homerun, 2 doubles and 3 runs scored.

 

The Win goes to Konnor Aherin for an inning of work in middle relief when the Railroaders took the lead for good. Ryann Gray picked up his first save on the season throwing the final 3 innings. Starter Alex Phillip pitched for 3 innings.

 

Taking the loss for Owensboro was middle reliever Julian Alveno who gave up the lead in 1 /2/3 innings on the mound. Starter Aaryn Chandler threw the first 3 1/3 innings and Isaiah Nelson completed the final inning on the mound for the Oilers.
