The Dubois County Bombers defeat the Fulton Railroaders, 7-2
In 7 innings. (From Dubois County) 1865 fans descended on League Stadium in time to see the Bombers complete the double-header sweep. An additional gate attraction on this night was a special appearance by the legendary San Diego Chicken, who entertained young and old with an act that has made him an icon in the world of sports mascots.
The Bombers scored in each of the first two innings to take an early lead. Zach Barnhart singled to lead off the home first inning. He eventually came around to score on a Matthew Poland sacrifice fly. Mark Giesler was hit by a pitch when he led off the Dubois County second, and scored on a Miles Hardy double.
A two-run third inning for Fulton tied the game in a rally fueled by hits by Andrew Swanson and Mason Elliott.
Dubois County broke the contest open in the home fourth. Six consecutive batters reached base. The first five of them scored. Barnhart's bases-loaded single plated a pair. Two Fulton errors kept the rally alive.
Austin Krizan pitched the first six innings, yielding a mere four hits and one walk. The victory moves Krizan's record to 3-2. Teagan Lind started for Fulton. The loss drops him to 0-4.
