The Fulton Railroaders defeat the Muhlenberg County Stallions, 13-10
(From Fulton) The Railroaders held off a rally by the Stallions in late innings to win in Fulton. After the first 5 innings of play, Fulton had a commanding 12-4 lead over Muhlenberg. After a scoreless 6th, both teams added a run each in the 7th inning. The Stallions began their comeback in the 8th inning scoring four runs off 4 hits, a walk and one Railroader error. In the top of the 9th the Stallions put up another run using 2 hits and another error to make it a 13-10 score still in Fulton's favor. With the bases loaded and 2 outs, a fly out to center ended the game.
Leading Fulton at the plate was Paul Salata going 2-for-4 hitting two homeruns for a total of 5 RBI. Tyler Catlett followed with 3-for-4 gaining 4 RBI and one score. Alex Smith went 1-for-3, two scores and had a 2 RBI single.
For Muhlenberg, Mark Treadway led the way going 4-for-5 with 3 RBI and one score. Jarrett Harness was 2-for-6 with 3 RBI. Justin Ware went 2-for-5, scored twice and had a 2 RBI triple.
Starter Konnor Aherin earned the win pitching 7 full innings allowing 6 hits, 5 runs (4 earned), 2 walks and had 6 strikeouts. Ryann Gray threw for only 2/3 of an inning giving up 4 hits, 4 earned runs, one walk with one strikeout. Fulton then dropped the DH position putting Alex Smith on the mound to complete the final 1 1/3 innings.
Preston Traywick takes the loss for the Stallions by starting the game walking 5 batters, hitting one and giving up 4 runs before being removed without a single out. Broderick Moore pitched for 3 1/3 innings allowing 5 hits, 7 earned runs, 4 walks and had 4 strikeouts. Will Broady completed the last 4 2/3 innings giving up 6 hits, 2 earned runs, 2 walks and had 3 strikeouts.
