The Hoptown Hoppers defeat the Dubois County Bombers, 5-2
In 7 innings. (From Dubois County) The nightcap was also a low-scoring affair. The Bombers led 2-1 after four innings, having taken the lead when Gray and Giesler powered back-to-back doubles into the Hopper outfield.
But the Hopper attack had been too quiet for too long. They scored in each of the next three innings to close out a 5-2 win, officially eliminating the Bombers from any possibility of winning the regular season title.
Allonte Wingate had three hits for the Hoppers, including a triple. Andrew Gross and Matt Dudas both added a pair of singles.
Gray and Miles Hardy had a pair of hits each for Dubois County.
Chase Maddux got the complete game victory. At 6-1, Maddux is the first pitcher in the league with six wins this season.
Caleb Wagner is charged with the loss. His record drops to 3-2.
Hopkinsville, now 30-6, travels to Owensboro tonight for another double header.
