The Madisonville Miners defeat the Hoptown Hoppers, 6-0
In 7 innings. (From Hopkinsville) The Ohio Valley League regular season champion Hoptown Hoppers (33-7) split with the visiting Madisonville Miners (25-13).
In game one of the doubleheader the Miners were led by their starting pitcher Brandon Dusenberry (6-1) who threw a complete game, 7-inning shutout against the Hoppers allowing only two hits and striking out four.
Hoppers starter Tyler Walton (3-1) would pick up the loss after tossing five innings, allowing three runs on five hits.
The Miners would get on the board in the top of the 2nd following three one-out hits and a RBI ground out giving them an early 2-0 lead. They would strike again in the 4th after a Logan Jarvis hit a solo homerun to left center field.
Madisonville would bring eight batters to the plate in the top of the 6th and ultimately score three more runs after two hit by pitches and a walk were driven in by a RBI ground out and a 2 RBI single by catcher Daniel Jackson.
