Despite Strong Fight, Paducah Chiefs Can't Top Henderson Flash

Despite a 5-run deficit in the third inning, Paducah Chiefs almost came all the way back, eventually falling 6-4 to Henderson Flash on Thursday. Paducah Chiefs managed four runs in the failed comeback. Kevin Brenning, Reid Pope, Nick Shumaker, and Peyton Sockwell came through with RBIs to lead the rally.

Paducah Chiefs fell behind early in the loss. Henderson Flash scored on a single by Paul Haupt in the second inning.

Henderson Flash opened up scoring in the first inning. Ryne Travis was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

Trey Congleton pitched Henderson Flash to victory. He lasted two and a third innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out four and walking zero. Trevor Nicholson and Drew Behling entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Nicholson recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Henderson Flash.

Stone Selby took the loss for Paducah Chiefs. He surrendered four runs on four hits over two innings, striking out two.

Travis Hennessy started the game for Henderson Flash. He surrendered four runs on eight hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out one

Paducah Chiefs racked up ten hits in the game. Sockwell, Brandon Kelly, and Blake Johnson each racked up multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Sockwell led Paducah Chiefs with three hits in five at-bats. Paducah Chiefs was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Sockwell had the most chances in the field with eight. Paducah Chiefs tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Kelly led the way with two.

Henderson Flash collected 12 hits on the day. Haupt, Behling, Evan Keller, and Tyler Roberts all had multiple hits for Henderson Flash. Haupt went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Henderson Flash in hits.
