Henderson Flash built a four-run lead in the second inning and then held off Madisonville Miners' charge for a 7-6 victory on Wednesday. Madisonville Miners scored two runs in the failed comeback on a single by Will Stump in the seventh and a fielder's choice by Bernee Sanchez in the eighth.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Henderson Flash collected nine hits and Madisonville Miners had 12.

In the first inning, Madisonville Miners got their offense started when Graham Hackbarth hit a solo homer.
