Madisonville Miners Defeats Paducah Chiefs Despite Allowing 3-Run Inning
Despite allowing three runs in the seventh inning, Madisonville Miners defeated Paducah Chiefs 7-3 on Wednesday. Paducah Chiefs scored its runs on a fielder's choice by John Mitchum.
Madisonville Miners got on the board in the first inning. Corey Kelley drove in two when he doubled.
Madisonville Miners put up three runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by George De La Fe and Will Stump.
Nicholas Rathke pitched Madisonville Miners to victory. He lasted six innings, allowing five hits and zero runs while striking out five. Jefferey O'Doherty and Tyler Dalzell entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
John Dowless took the loss for Paducah Chiefs. He surrendered seven runs on nine hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two.
