Hoptown Hoppers Captures Lead Early To Defeat Muhlenberg County Stallions

Muhlenberg County Stallions fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 9-1 loss to Hoptown Hoppers on Friday. Hoptown Hoppers scored on a home run by Brennan Crooms in the first inning, a double by Brendan Nee in the second inning, and a groundout by Jacob Jenkins in the second inning.

The Muhlenberg County Stallions struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Hoptown Hoppers, giving up nine runs.

Hoptown Hoppers fired up the offense in the first inning, when Crooms homered on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Cam Barlow was the winning pitcher for Hoptown Hoppers. He allowed zero hits and one run over seven innings, striking out ten and walking one. Drew McGowan and Ben Huber entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Nate Cunningham took the loss for Muhlenberg County Stallions. He allowed seven hits and six runs over three innings.

Julian Sansores went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Muhlenberg County Stallions in hits.

Hoptown Hoppers tallied 12 hits in the game. Seth Bennett, Micah Genter, Hunter Evans, Jenkins, and Huber all managed multiple hits for Hoptown Hoppers. Hoptown Hoppers tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Jenkins led the way with two.
