Owensboro RiverDawgs Drops Game To Hoptown Hoppers After Late Score

Owensboro RiverDawgs stayed in it until the end, but Hoptown Hoppers pulled away late in a 7-3 victory on Thursday. The game was tied at one with Hoptown Hoppers batting in the top of the sixth when Brendan Nee was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

Hoptown Hoppers fired up the offense in the second inning, when Seth Bennett's sac fly scored one run for Hoptown Hoppers.

Owensboro RiverDawgs knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the fourth inning, when Josh Bennett doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Hoptown Hoppers pulled away for good with four runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Nee was hit by a pitch, driving in a run, Drew McGowan singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, and Ben Huber singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Lane Diuguid earned the victory on the mound for Hoptown Hoppers. He allowed two hits and one run over eight innings, striking out eight. Hunter Arnold threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
