Mitchum Collects Four Hits As Paducah Chiefs Defeats Dubois County Bombers

Four hits from Pierce Mitchum helped lead the way for Paducah Chiefs over Dubois County Bombers 14-4 on Friday. Mitchum singled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the fifth.

In the second inning, Dubois County Bombers got their offense started when Bryson McNay homered on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

Paducah Chiefs pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third Bryson Bloomer singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Nick Rucker singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Alan Roden singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, and Drew Hudson grounded out, scoring one run.

Brady Bibbs took the win for Paducah Chiefs. He allowed four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out three. Hale Sims threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Benton McGill took the loss for Dubois County Bombers. He allowed eight hits and six runs over three innings, striking out one and walking zero.

Paducah Chiefs smacked two home runs on the day. Lofton Pigg had a dinger in the fifth inning. Roden put one out in the sixth inning.

Paducah Chiefs collected 17 hits on the day. Mitchum, John Michael Russ, Roden, and Ja'lil Akbar each collected multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Mitchum went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Paducah Chiefs in hits.

Dubois County Bombers tallied seven hits in the game. Matt Ellis and McNay each had multiple hits for Dubois County Bombers.
