Franklin Duelers's Early Lead Over Fulton Railroaders Sets Stage For Victory
An early lead helped Franklin Duelers defeat Fulton Railroaders 13-5 on Sunday. Franklin Duelers scored on a single by Tyler Estes, a double by James Marcinkowski, and a single by Jordan Blick in the second inning.
After Fulton Railroaders scored one run in the top of the fourth, Franklin Duelers answered with one of their own. Fulton Railroaders scored when Britt Netterville singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Franklin Duelers then answered when Tim Blankenberger hit a solo homer.
Franklin Duelers put up five runs in the eighth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Robby Zanardelli, a home run by Blick, a fielder's choice by Estes, and a double by Blankenberger.
David Hall earned the win for Franklin Duelers. He went five innings, allowing three runs on 11 hits and striking out five. Rylan Thomas and Matthew Crittenden entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Keshaun Mays took the loss for Fulton Railroaders. He allowed seven hits and five runs over two innings, striking out one.
