Hoptown Hoppers Walks Away Victorious Over Paducah Chiefs In High-Scoring Game, 10-9

Scorekeepers were kept busy today during a high-scoring contest between Hoptown Hoppers and Paducah Chiefs where Hoptown Hoppers prevailed 10-9.

Paducah Chiefs got things moving in the first inning, when Brandon Hager singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Hoptown Hoppers took the lead for good with five runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Zayd Brannigan singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Joe Sassi drew a walk, scoring one run, Patrick Walker grounded out, scoring one run, Benjamin (B.J.) Banyon drew a walk, scoring one run, and Nicholas (Nico) Montes grounded out, scoring one run.

Tyler McLaren was the winning pitcher for Hoptown Hoppers. McLaren surrendered two runs on five hits over four innings, striking out four and walking zero. Chase Gruno threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Gruno recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Hoptown Hoppers.

Billy Johnston took the loss for Paducah Chiefs. The pitcher surrendered five runs on three hits over two innings, striking out two.

Carter Park started the game for Paducah Chiefs. The righty lasted three innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out four and walking zero Jackson Lyons started the game for Hoptown Hoppers. The righty lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out six

Hoptown Hoppers totaled 11 hits. Montes, Tanner Holliman, and Brannigan each had multiple hits for Hoptown Hoppers. Brannigan, Holliman, and Montes each managed two hits to lead Hoptown Hoppers.

Paducah Chiefs collected 13 hits. Drew HudsonJacob HagerBrant Brown, and Zach Reynolds all managed multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs.
