Fulton Railroaders Drops Game To Hoptown Hoppers After Late Score
Fulton Railroaders lost the lead late in a 14-6 defeat to Hoptown Hoppers on Monday. The game was tied at three with Hoptown Hoppers batting in the top of the sixth when Benjamin (B.J.) Banyon grounded out, scoring one run.
Despite the loss, Fulton Railroaders did collect five hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Hoptown Hoppers had 14 hits on the way to victory.
Fulton Railroaders got things started in the first inning when Patrick Music doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Hoptown Hoppers pulled away for good with three runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Tanner Holliman hit a solo homer and Landon Choboy singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Fulton Railroaders notched three runs in the eighth inning. Fulton Railroaders offense in the inning was led by Jarret Fowlkes and Parker Estes, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Hoptown Hoppers scored seven runs in the seventh inning. Zayd Brannigan, Choboy, Valek Cisneros, Riley Garczynski, and Holliman all drove in runs in the frame.
Garrett Sagro was credited with the victory for Hoptown Hoppers. The lefty allowed two hits and three runs over three innings, striking out two. Colby Downard, Brandon (B.J.) Jessie, and Cisneros all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
Seti Manase took the loss for Fulton Railroaders. The pitcher surrendered one run on four hits over five innings, striking out five and walking zero.
Fulton Railroaders socked one home run on the day. Fowlkes went for the long ball in the eighth inning.
