Muhlenberg County Stallions had trouble keeping up with Hoptown Hoppers in an 8-2 loss on Tuesday.
In the first inning, Muhlenberg County Stallions got their offense started.
Hoptown Hoppers pulled away for good with four runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Nick Casey induced Jojo Cruz to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored and Nicholas (Nico) Montes singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Grant Golomb was credited with the victory for Hoptown Hoppers. Golomb went four innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out six. Arlon Butts and Jake Parr entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Casey took the loss for Muhlenberg County Stallions. Casey went five innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out six.
Noah Phillips, Parker Stroh, Mason Lundgrin, and Colin Cornwell each collected one hit to lead Muhlenberg County Stallions.
Hoptown Hoppers tallied eight hits. Montes, Riley Garczynski, and Benjamin (B.J.) Banyon each had multiple hits for Hoptown Hoppers. Montes led Hoptown Hoppers with three hits in four at bats.
