Franklin Duelers Can't Catch Up To Henderson Flash

Franklin Duelers watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 12-6 loss to Henderson Flash on Friday. Henderson Flash took the lead on a triple in the second inning.

Franklin Duelers collected nine hits and Henderson Flash had 17 in the high-scoring affair.

After Henderson Flash scored two runs in the top of the eighth, Franklin Duelers answered with two of their own. Henderson Flash scored when Tyler Schultz doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. Franklin Duelers then answered when Austin Ehren singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run and Carter Vrable drew a walk, scoring one run.

Henderson Flash pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Adam Depkewicz tripled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Henderson Flash scored four runs in the third inning. Henderson Flash's big inning was driven by singles by Derek Wagner and Ryan Dos Santos and a walk by Schultz.

Jackson Cole led things off on the hill for Henderson Flash. The righty allowed six hits and four runs over five innings, striking out two.

Zach Sliger toed the rubber for Franklin Duelers. The bulldog went five and a third innings, allowing eight runs on ten hits, striking out one and walking one. Denton Lee and Nate Cunningham entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively.

Franklin Duelers hit one home run on the day. Vrable went deep in the first inning.

Ehren led Franklin Duelers with two hits in five at bats.

Henderson Flash scattered 17 hits in the game. Wagner, Trey HutchisonTrevor CampbellNick Rucker, Depkewicz, and Schultz all collected multiple hits for Henderson Flash. Wagner went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Henderson Flash in hits.
