Early Lead For Hoptown Hoppers Sets Stage For Victory Over Madisonville Miners

Hoptown Hoppers defeated Madisonville Miners 13-6 thanks to a strong start. Hoptown Hoppers scored on a double by Kurt Paldino and a single by Benjamin (B.J.) Banyon in the second inning.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Hoptown Hoppers collected 11 hits and Madisonville Miners had 14.

After Madisonville Miners scored one run in the top of the sixth, Hoptown Hoppers answered with one of their own. Madisonville Miners scored when Reed Latimer singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. Hoptown Hoppers then answered when Alex Gonzales drew a walk, scoring one run.

Hoptown Hoppers pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Paldino doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run and Banyon singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring two runs.

Hoptown Hoppers scored six runs in the seventh inning. The offensive firepower by Hoptown Hoppers was led by Patrick Walker, Banyon, Noah Brown, and Nicholas (Nico) Montes, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Jackson Lyons pitched Hoptown Hoppers to victory. The righty went five innings, allowing two runs on eight hits, striking out five, and walking one. Brandon (B.J.) Jessie and Peyton Hart entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Ian Craigie took the loss for Madisonville Miners. Craigie lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out three.

Hoptown Hoppers smacked one home run on the day. Landon Choboy put one out in the third inning.

Hoptown Hoppers scattered 11 hits in the game. Choboy, Montes, and Paldino all collected multiple hits for Hoptown Hoppers. Montes and Choboy each collected three hits to lead Hoptown Hoppers.

Madisonville Miners racked up 14 hits on the day. Brennon Williams, Latimer, Joshua Keating, Justin Ramirez, and Brennen Hunt all managed multiple hits for Madisonville Miners.
