Garcia Delivers Four Runs, But Franklin Duelers Falls To Paducah Chiefs
Franklin Duelers fell 21-10 to Paducah Chiefs on Wednesday despite four RBIs from Danny Garcia. Garcia drove in runs on a grand slam in the first.
Despite the loss, Franklin Duelers did collect ten hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Paducah Chiefs had 19 hits on the way to victory.
Franklin Duelers captured the lead in the first inning. Kolby Wall was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.
Paducah Chiefs took the lead for good with eight runs in the third inning. In the third Cade Rogers singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, Jacob Hager singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run, Ja'lil Akbar drew a walk, scoring one run, and Brant Brown homered on a 1-0 count, scoring four runs.
Corbin Hayden got the start for Paducah Chiefs. The southpaw went six and third innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out seven.
Rylan Thomas was on the mound for Franklin Duelers. The hurler allowed six hits and nine runs over two and third innings, striking out four.
Franklin Duelers tallied two home runs on the day. Garcia put one out in the first inning. Carter Vrabel had a dinger in the ninth inning.
Garcia went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Franklin Duelers in hits.
Paducah Chiefs racked up 19 hits. Brown, Riley Hawthorne, Hager, and Brandon Hager all had multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs.
