Paducah Chiefs Nearly Erases 4-Run Deficit In Loss To Muhlenberg County Stallions

Muhlenberg County Stallions got out to a four-run lead in the third inning and held on for a 5-4 victory over Paducah Chiefs on Thursday. Paducah Chiefs scored four runs in the failed comeback on a single by Brant Brown in the sixth, a double by Lane Lamberth in the sixth, a triple by Jace Mizell in the sixth, and an error in the eighth.

Muhlenberg County Stallions earned the victory despite allowing Paducah Chiefs to score three runs in the sixth inning. Paducah Chiefs' big inning was driven by a triple by Mizell, a single by Brown, and a double by Lamberth.

Muhlenberg County Stallions opened up scoring in the first inning when Nick Lucido homered on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

Brett Sanchez earned the win for Muhlenberg County Stallions. The right-hander surrendered three runs on six hits over five innings, striking out seven and walking zero. Nathan McKissick and Isaac Rose entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. McKissick recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Muhlenberg County Stallions.

Jacob Kisting took the loss for Paducah Chiefs. Kisting went four innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out four.

Muhlenberg County Stallions hit one home run on the day. Lucido had a homer in the first inning.

Mason Lundgrin led Muhlenberg County Stallions with two hits in four at-bats. Muhlenberg County Stallions tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Will Kempf led the way with two.

Paducah Chiefs collected nine hits. Brown and Lamberth all managed multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Brown went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Paducah Chiefs in hits.
