Hoptown Hoppers fought back after falling down by six runs in the fourth inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 10-9 defeat to Franklin Duelers on Tuesday. Hoptown Hoppers put up seven runs in the failed comeback. Zayd Brannigan, Kurt Paldino, Noah Brown, Valek Cisneros, Benjamin (B.J.) Banyon, and Paldino came through with RBIs to lead the rally.

Hoptown Hoppers fell behind early in the loss. Franklin Duelers scored on a single by Luis Perez, a triple by Alex Miller, and a single by Lance Upright in the first inning.

Franklin Duelers opened up scoring in the first inning. Franklin Duelers scored two runs when Perez singled.

Jaxson Lucas was the winning pitcher for Franklin Duelers. The hurler allowed four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out three. Kolby Wall, Pat Coleman, and Steven Hayden all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Wall recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Franklin Duelers.

Bracken Rice took the loss for Hoptown Hoppers. The righty surrendered five runs on four hits over one inning, striking out two and walking zero.

Hoptown Hoppers smacked one home run on the day. Cisneros went deep in the sixth inning.

Hoptown Hoppers collected 14 hits on the day. Banyon, Landon Choboy, Paldino, and Brannigan each racked up multiple hits for Hoptown Hoppers. Banyon led Hoptown Hoppers with four hits in six at bats.

Franklin Duelers tallied 11 hits in the game. Upright, Miller, and Nate Mix all collected multiple hits for Franklin Duelers.
