Madisonville Miners Clinches Lead In Seventh Inning For Victory Over Muhlenberg County Stallions

Madisonville Miners defeated Muhlenberg County Stallions 13-10 on Sunday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at ten with Madisonville Miners batting in the bottom of the seventh when Nate McKissick induced Jackson Lindsey to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Madisonville Miners earned the victory despite allowing Muhlenberg County Stallions to score eight runs in the fifth inning. Muhlenberg County Stallions' big inning was driven by walks by Garrett Causey, Griffin Tarter, Justin Massingale, and Jaccar Watkins, a single by Logan Welch, a home run by Watkins, a groundout by Noah Phillips, and a fielder's choice by Manning Webb.

Madisonville Miners fired up the offense in the first inning, when Luke Mitchell doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Madisonville Miners scored five runs in the third inning. Ryne Wallace, Kobe Jones, and Cameron Dean all drove in runs in the frame.

Joel Connors earned the win for Madisonville Miners. Connors went one and one-third innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out three. Cameron Goble and Jacob Wright entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Goble recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Madisonville Miners.

Ben Bowman took the loss for Muhlenberg County Stallions. The pitcher went one-third of an inning, allowing two runs on two hits, striking out one, and walking one.

Devon Foster started the game for Madisonville Miners. Foster surrendered six runs on eight hits over four and a third innings, striking out six and walking one Jeremy Levine started the game for Muhlenberg County Stallions. The righty surrendered eight runs on ten hits over three innings, striking out three

Madisonville Miners hit two home runs on the day. Jones had a dinger in the third inning. Wallace went deep in the third inning.

Madisonville Miners tallied 18 hits. Kareh Valentin, Evan Liddie, Jones, Wallace, Lindsey, Mitchell, and Austin Baal each racked up multiple hits for Madisonville Miners. Liddie and Valentin each collected three hits to lead Madisonville Miners.

Muhlenberg County Stallions collected ten hits. Phillips and Brennon Williams all managed multiple hits for Muhlenberg County Stallions.
