Franklin Duelers Can't Catch Up To Paducah Chiefs

Franklin Duelers fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 14-4 loss to Paducah Chiefs on Sunday. Paducah Chiefs scored on a double by Godwin and a single by Slater in the second inning.

The Franklin Duelers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Paducah Chiefs, giving up 14 runs.

Paducah Chiefs got things moving in the second inning. Godwin drove in one when Godwin doubled.

Paducah Chiefs scored five runs in the ninth inning. The big inning for Paducah Chiefs came thanks to a walk by Brooks, a groundout by Godwin, and a double by Griggs.

Jose Monegro was credited with the victory for Paducah Chiefs. The ace surrendered three runs on six hits over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Brewington, Belcher, and Barnes all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Ranard Grace took the loss for Franklin Duelers. The bulldog lasted two and a third innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out two and walking one.

Franklin Duelers hit one home run on the day. Quincy Smith II had a long ball in the fourth inning.

Tre'en Dorsett went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Franklin Duelers in hits.

Paducah Chiefs totaled 14 hits. Slater, Godwin, Brooks, and Griggs each managed multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs.
