Hoptown Hoppers stayed in it until the end, but Henderson Flash pulled away late in a 7-5 victory on Monday. Henderson Flash was down 4-3 in the top of the sixth inning when Payton Matthews homered on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring two runs.

Hoptown Hoppers lost despite out-hitting Henderson Flash nine to eight.

In the first inning, Hoptown Hoppers got their offense started. Joshua Rodriguez drove in two when Rodriguez homered.

After Henderson Flash scored one run in the top of the seventh, Hoptown Hoppers answered with one of their own. Hoptown Hoppers then answered when Rodriguez singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Henderson Flash took the lead for good with two runs in the sixth inning.

Sam McFarland earned the victory on the hill for Henderson Flash. The right-hander allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking zero. Caid Sanders, Aiden Vosburg, and Nolan Patterson all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Patterson recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Henderson Flash.

Jacob De La Cerda took the loss for Hoptown Hoppers. The pitcher surrendered one run on one hit over one-third of an inning, walking one.

Arren Hash started the game for Hoptown Hoppers. The pitcher allowed four hits and four runs over five innings, striking out three J.D. Willis started the game for Henderson Flash. The lefthander surrendered two runs on three hits over two innings, striking out three and walking zero

Hoptown Hoppers launched one home run on the day. Rodriguez had a dinger in the first inning.

Hoptown Hoppers scattered nine hits in the game. Ren Tachioka, William Spear, and Rodriguez each had multiple hits for Hoptown Hoppers. Tachioka led Hoptown Hoppers with three hits in three at-bats.
