Henderson Flash Clinches Lead In Seventh Inning To Defeat Dubois County Bombers

Henderson Flash snagged a late lead and defeated Dubois County Bombers 8-4 on Wednesday. The game was tied at four with Henderson Flash batting in the bottom of the seventh when Zach Thomas doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Henderson Flash earned the victory despite allowing Dubois County Bombers to score three runs in the fourth inning. Josh Newton and Camden Gasser all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Henderson Flash got things started in the first inning when Thomas grounded out, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Henderson Flash tied things up at four when Sam McFarland hit a solo homer.

J.D. Willis earned the victory on the hill for Henderson Flash. The pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over four innings, striking out two and walking zero. Brady Joyner and Adam Weihe entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Grant Stratton took the loss for Dubois County Bombers. The right-hander surrendered seven runs on ten hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one.

Kobe Matsen started the game for Henderson Flash. The righty went three innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out five

Henderson Flash hit one home run on the day. McFarland had a homer in the fifth inning.

Henderson Flash collected 12 hits on the day. Casey Sorg, Ryan Dos Santos, and Jeff Hoffman each collected multiple hits for Henderson Flash. Sorg led Henderson Flash with three hits in five at-bats.

Dubois County Bombers collected nine hits. Tucker Schank, Newton, and Ryan Davis each had multiple hits for Dubois County Bombers.
