Henderson Flash Grabs Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Paducah Chiefs

Henderson Flash snagged a late lead and defeated Paducah Chiefs 9-6 on Tuesday. The game was tied at three with Henderson Flash batting in the bottom of the sixth when Ben Hargrove induced Payton Matthews to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Henderson Flash collected ten hits and Paducah Chiefs had nine in the high-scoring affair.

Henderson Flash got things moving in the first inning, when Zach Thomas grounded out, scoring one run.

Henderson Flash took the lead for good with seven runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Nick Wimber singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Kyle LaVanchy singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Ryan Dos Santos was hit by a pitch, driving in a run, Jeff Hoffman singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run, and Thomas singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Paducah Chiefs scored three runs in the ninth inning. Paducah Chiefs scored its runs on a double by Gage Griggs.

Casey Sorg got the win for Henderson Flash. The pitcher went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits. J.D. Willis and Nolan Patterson entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Patterson recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Henderson Flash.

Hargrove took the loss for Paducah Chiefs. The pitcher allowed three hits and five runs over two-thirds of an inning, walking one.

Sam McFarland started the game for Henderson Flash. McFarland lasted four innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out two and walking one Payton Henley started the game for Paducah Chiefs. The bulldog allowed five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out six

Henderson Flash totaled ten hits in the game. Wimber, Hoffman, and Thomas each racked up multiple hits for Henderson Flash. Wimber led Henderson Flash with three hits in three at-bats. Henderson Flash was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Ben Berenda had the most chances in the field with nine.

Paducah Chiefs racked up nine hits on the day. Krayton Morse and Cody Holub each collected multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs.
